There is hardly anybody in the world who has not heard the computer reader's name. Most people consider the computer a machine that can do everything. First of all, it is important to understand that computer is an electronic machine such as electronic calculator or electronic device. In calculator we reduce arithmetic operations, while in computers, we can do more function. These tasks are called data processing.

#1. Data

Any facts and information about any object is called data, for example, about the mobile that we use, such as its weight name company etc.

There are mainly two types of data:
(1)  Numeric
(2)  Alpha-Numeric

Data created with digits is called numerical data.

The data mark is made up of symbols called alpha-numeric data.

#2. Information

Useful data are called information in computer language.

#3. Data Processing

To add an average age from different ages, we have to add, counting, comparing and subtracting. It is called Processing. Thus, we have to do a lot of actions in order to extract information from the data. All those actions are called data processing. We can also do data processing on paper, but nowadays we are able to easily process data processing with the help of computer.

 The computer is an electronic machine so all these actions are called (EDP) Electronic Data Processing or short term EDP.

#4. Importance of Computer

The computer is used to store and maintain data in a large company and government office. Electricity bill telephone bills, such as seat reservation in the railways, is prepared by the computer very easily and in a short time.

In the busy routine time, the use of computers in almost every field of life has become mandatory as the computer saves our invaluable time. On the other hand, the computer is used to see the increasing amount of data, because paper maintenance has become difficult.

In today's time, the computer is an important tool that makes all our tasks easy.

#5. Characteristics of computer

So far, you have learned about the many properties of computer. Due to these qualities, computers have become the biggest and trustworthy tool of man nowadays, some of his main qualities are as follows:-

1. Performs any task in a very short time and at a fast pace.

2. The more work it is told, the more work is done.

3. Corrects every work right as you have ordered it.

4. No mistake or mistake on your part.

5. It does its job without any help.

6. Makes proper storage of data.

#6. How does computer work

The computer does not do any work itself, but it works according to any program on our instruction. Every program requires input to do any tasks. Data needs input data such as keyboard, mouse, scanner, etc. to input data and program computer Give or send

The commands given by the computer's CPU (Central Processing Unit)  or processor are followed by this program. This program is written in such a manner that it is accomplished by properly observing it.
